Update: Nottingham City Libraries will continue to host Digital Drop-In sessions throughout February and March.

As well as providing guidance for users of the NHS App, the sessions offer free support to anyone looking to build confidence with computers, smartphones, online services, or digital skills.

The initiative supports the wider ambition across Nottingham and Nottinghamshire to reduce digital exclusion and ensure every resident has the chance to benefit from online services, skills, and opportunities.

The sessions are open to all and run by friendly staff and volunteers.

The drop-ins are open to anyone who needs help, with no appointment required. Library staff and volunteers will be on hand to provide one-on-one guidance, helping visitors with tasks such as:

  • Using smartphones, tablets, or laptops
  • Getting started with essential online tools
  • Accessing services such as the NHS App
  • Staying safe online
  • Finding trustworthy information
  • Improving digital confidence at any level

Where and When?

These sessions form part of the Innovating in Trusted Spaces programme, a national initiative exploring how libraries can empower communities through digital learning.

What to expect

Each session provides access to library computers or the option to bring your own device.

Support is available for a wide range of digital needs – from the basics of email to understanding artificial intelligence. Some weeks have a themed focus, while others are open sessions tailored to the needs of attendees.
