September marked a significant milestone for the Notts Care Record. More than 3,100 health and social care professionals accessed the system, demonstrating its vital role in supporting integrated care across Nottinghamshire. Collectively, these practitioners viewed over 28,000 individual person records, helping them make informed decisions and deliver better outcomes for the people they care for.
In the first two weeks of October, usage continued to rise, reflecting the growing confidence and reliance on the platform. The data shows how the system is becoming an essential tool for practitioners, enabling them to access accurate information quickly and securely. As adoption increases, so does the potential for improved collaboration across health and social care services, ensuring that people receive the right support at the right time

The response to the Notts Care Record has been overwhelmingly positive, highlighting its growing value across the health and social care community. Users consistently praise the platform for its reliability, ease of access, and the quality of Primary Care data it provides. These features are making a real difference by enabling teams to access accurate information quickly and securely.
For many practitioners, the ability to retrieve essential details without delay is transforming the way care is delivered. By streamlining access to patient records, the Notts Care Record supports faster decision-making and improved collaboration across our system. This means professionals can spend less time searching for information and more time focusing on what matters most—delivering high-quality care.
We’re encouraging all partners to keep promoting the Notts Care Record. By advocating for regular and routine use of the Notts Care Record, we can all help our teams to understand the opportunities offered by the record. We want to empower them to make consulting the Notts Care Record part of their everyday practice.
This means colleagues don’t need to spend precious time chasing up data that is now readily available to them. Whilst our citizens don’t need to repeat themselves when receiving care.

Our initial roll out will complete by mid-November, when our legacy Shared Care Record (CareCentric) will be decommissioned. All partners will continue to promote the Notts Care Record to their teams and to minimise the disruption of the migration.
We will be working with partners on an ongoing basis to gather feedback from users. This will both support the continuous improvement of the record and help to demonstrate how the record is enabling system efficiencies and the shift from analogue to digital across our ICS. At the same time, we are actively exploring opportunities to further develop the Notts Care Record. This includes the potential to expand the Children’s and Young People’s data set, enhance our End-of-Life data with a digital ReSPECT form, or enabling access to maternity data held in Badger Net. We will keep stakeholders informed on how these fledgling projects progress.
We are also looking at how we can sustainably support smaller partners who provide direct care within our ICS but have never used a Shared Care Record. Our first goal is to learn more about the potential benefits and obstacles related to enabling secure Notts Care Record access for these smaller organisations. This will allow us to design a forward plan for further rollout in the community.
