Earlier this month, DHSC published a press notice highlighting the work done nationally to digitise adult social care . The press release showcased the collective efforts to digitise adult social care across England over the past two years, with over 80% of providers now using a digital social care record.
Locally, Digital Notts was responsible for coordinating the DSCR programme. Working closely with Nottinghamshire County Council and other ICS partners, Digital Notts distributed over £700,000 of national funding between July 2023 and March 2025 to help local adult social care providers to install a digital social care record system.
Our programme completed in September 2025, with 86% of local care providers now using a digital social care record, 6% higher than the nationally set target.
At the same time, it was estimated DSCR implementation had reduced printing and paper costs, saving our providers over £370,000 over a 12-month period.
“One local provider said “ We are confident that the Digital Social Care Record will continue to save us money in the long run. We are also seeing other benefits from the Digital Social Care Record, such as improved efficiency and accuracy in our record-keeping.”
