As well as sessions at the end of October, this year, digital support hubs were extended into early November.
Working with colleagues from Sherwood Forest Hospitals, digital support hubs were hosted at Kings Mill Hospital, Newark Hospital and Sutton in Ashfield Leisure Centre, enabling more people to get digital health support.
Over 240 residents were supported in the sessions, providing help for residents to register for the NHS App, showing how patients can access GP health record information, manage their appointments as well as how to request repeat prescriptions digitally.
Rosie Hercek, Project and Business Change Manager and lead for Digital Inclusion at Digital Notts said, “It’s vital we go out into the community to reach patients in a variety of settings. Our digital support hubs help mitigate against digital exclusion and give residents confidence to take control of their own health digitally.
“A huge thank you to everyone who took part, from the staff and volunteers running the hubs to the people who came along to learn something new. Together, we’re making digital health more accessible for everyone in Nottingham and Nottinghamshire.”
“The technology lets us to know that a patient has successfully received and opened our letters. Whilst hospital appointments can be managed via the App as well. This has a positive impact on improving patient communication and helping reduce missed appointments.”
Get Online Week will return in October 2026, but for anyone needing additional support with the NHS App, there are still plenty of ways to get help.
